We are loving this Home Celebration: Wild One Safari Birthday Party. This event was supposed to be a baby shower last year July in Emerald greens, black and gold. My client went into labour a couple of days before the baby shower was set to take place. So we postponed indefinitely. Then, COVID19 struck us and we decided to do a home celebration: Wild One Safari birthday party for the boys’ 1st Birthday.

I am absolutely in love with this set up and the gorgeous colour palette we opted for. Greens and gold. I wanted to keep the flower arrangements wild too thus opted for greenery and pompass grass to create the African vibe I was aiming for. It felt so good to set up this event and working on it with my team since we have not been working for the past five months. We have been limited to home celebrations but this home celebration was like no other!

We created lounge pods in emerald green and gold for the guests to relax in. My client had a lot of different seating areas and this assisted in the social distancing part of it. On arrival, guests helped themselves to a variety of canapés. We provided a braai buffet for lunch.

My highlight for this event was the simple fact that I could work with my full team again and create magic! It truly felt so good to be able to work again – who would have thought that we would ever be in a situation where our work would become illegal?

The Light SA Red Movement

If you have been following my Instagram stories, you would know that Outlandish Events fully support the Light SA Red Movement.  The movement is about creating awareness that the Event Industry is dying under lockdown as our industry is still under Lockdown Level 5. We want the government to allow us to resume events with all safety precaution in place. We are ready for safe eventing during this pandemic.  We are not asking for handouts – We are simply asking to be allowed to earn a livelihood.
